Background: Like many Tatooine youths, Gavin started his flying career by weaving a beat-up skyhopper in and out of the winding Beggar's Canyon. When his cousin, Biggs, and his friend Luke left Tatooine to join the Rebel Alliance, Gavin began to turn his eyes to the stars. Gavin came to Wedge Antilles, who was reforming the famous Rogue Squadron at the time, and asked if he could join. While Gavin was only 16 years old, his training scores were exemplary and he soon became Rogue Squadron's youngest pilot. An Imperial ambush on the Squadron's base at Talasea nearly cost Gavin his life, but he survived and flew many missions with the Rogues, helping in the conquest of Coruscant and, later, in the ensuing Bacta War. Gavin continues to be a skilled member of Rogue Squadron.
