Background: Kell's problems started when his father, Kissek Doran, was shot down trying to escape a battle. Doran, a pilot in the Tierfon Yellow Aces, panicked during an ambush and fled. To prevent him revealing their presence, fellow pilot Wes Janson was forced to shoot him down. When news of Doran's disgrace filtered back to Kell's home on Alderaan, Kell's mother changed the family name, erased all traces of their presence on Alderaan and moved, shamed by her husbands cowardly actions. For many years Kell dreamed of repairing the damage done to his father's name and, after a stint working as a mechanic at Sluis Van, was accepted into Wraith Squadron. The tension between Kell and the Wraith's commanding officer, Wes Janson, was palpable, but eventually Kell came to understand that Wes was not the cold-hearted killer he had thought him to be. Kell's skills in demolitions and repair work make him invaluable to the Wraiths, even though they no longer are an X-Wing unit.
